Wirksworth Tunnel 10k Trail Race
On the evening of Wednesday 12th June staff from Waterhouses Primary & the QEGSMAT central team took on the challenge of the Wirksworth 10k Tunnel Trail race, which turned out to be an epic experience, running through a steady downpour from start to finish & splashing through some very muddy puddles. Despite the damp conditions spirits remained high with everyone digging deep to finish the race, and the celebratory cake at the end was well earned and delicious! Well done to Miss Hall, Mrs Salt, Mrs Bradbury, Mrs Porteous & Mr Wood, & to our QEGSMAT central team colleagues Mr Hardy (HR Manager) and Mr Haines (Estates Manager) who also braved the weather to run, all raising money for the QEGSMAT charity for 2019 Cardiac Risk in the Young. Next it will be the turn of our pupils to take part in a CRY charity run, hopefully in much nicer weather, taking place at Waterhouses Primary on the last Wednesday of the summer term.
